We are pleased to invite you to the webinar of the Erasmus + project ¨Bridge¨ - European innovative intergenerational intervention through the use of "Serious games" for people with dementia (https://projectbridge.eu/). As part of this project, 8 Serious games (4 digital and 4 board games) have been created, with concern on the mental and behavioral symptoms of dementia and as an innovative intergenerational intervention. Project’s consortium has also created an online training platform (http://bridgecourses.uowm.gr/) including courses on general info of the project and dementia (needs and interactions with people with dementia), on how to conduct co-creating workshops and on the positive impact effects of serious games for pwD etc. Participants on these courses also have the opportunity to download free useful material and all new games. The Erasmus+ funded Bridge project has now entered its final stages and the consortium is pleased to announce the launch of the online training course developed within the project. The course is divided in different lessons that cover a variety of topics: dementia and how to interact with people with dementia, serious games and their benefits for people with dementia. Inside the training course you will find a description of Bridge Project and the methodology used to create games for people with dementia. An entire lesson is dedicate to the games created within the project. For each game you will find a detailed description, a rulebook, a video-tutorial and all the materials needed to play. After almost 3 years the Erasmus+ Bridge Project is coming to an end. On the 8th and 9th of July 2021, the final Bridge project partner meeting took place. Due to Covid-19 situation some partners managed to meet in person in Chalkida, hosted by Alzheimer Chalkida, while the others joined online. The meeting started with an overview of the project, made by the coordinator, including achieved results and new tasks to implement before the upcoming end of the project. Then the consortium focused on the final version of the methodological guide and the implementation of game-sessions workshops. Panhellenic Federation of Alzheimer Disease presented the final report collecting the workshops’ results in each partner country. After testing sessions, that took place in all partner countries, Bridge Project consortium is pleased to announce the launch of 8 serious games acting on dementia symptoms. Serious games, also called “training games”, are a well known non pharmaceutical practice for treating cognitive symptoms of dementia through the stimulation of cognitive functions of patients with dementia. These games, have been designed, produced and tested through a series of workshops involving health professionals, young volunteers, people with dementia and their carers coming from Greece, Italy and Romania. The games created aim to stimulate cognitive functions and, at the same time, to increase social inclusion by an active involvement of people with dementia in the game sessions. On the 2nd and 4th of December 2020, the 4th Bridge project partner meeting took place. Unfortunately due to Corona virus emergency it wasn’t possible to organize a physical meeting so Bridge consortium jointed on line. The project coordinator made a short overview of the project, including achieved results and expected outcomes. The first part of the meeting focused on the implementation of game-sessions workshops. Each partner reported their own experience, shared the results achieved and the next steps planned. The second part of the meeting was about the development of materials that will be uploaded on the e-platform. Each partner presented the lessons it was responsible for. GREECE The coordinator of the Bridge project in Greece organised a 2days Workshop in May 2019 including various groups of people. 36 people in total took part in this event, 3 health professionals, 3 game designers, 3 caregivers, 13 older people and people with dementia and 14 young people as volunteers. They gave all of them a positive feedback not only for the well organised sessions, but also for this chance to collaborate with different people and to exchange ideas and feelings. The final results of this Workshop were 3 new games with the contribution of all.
